On Thursday 21st August 2025, the GWCT Wales team had a fantastic day out at the Denbigh & Flint Show. It’s always a highlight in the rural calendar, and we were thrilled to be part of it once again.
James Warrington, Logan Crimp and Julieanne Quinlan were on hand to chat with visitors about all sorts of exciting projects – from using drones in conservation to our much-loved Curlew Connections Wales project, as well as other work we’re doing to support wildlife and biodiversity on farms across Wales.

This year, we also brought along some hands-on activities for children (and, in some cases, very enthusiastic adults too!). Visitors had a go at insect hoopla, tested their skills at feed like a curlew, and of course, enjoyed our famous Who Made That Sound? game, where you press different buttons to match animal calls with the right species. It was brilliant to see so many smiles and a lot of healthy competition!

We had some great conversations with people of all ages, and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for conservation and countryside management.
To top it all off, we were delighted to be awarded Second Place for Best Stand in the Countryside Area! A huge thank you to the organisers for recognising our stand, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello and share their passion for wildlife with us.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s show – hope to see you there!
