2024 Research Report Released by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust is delighted to announce the release of the 2024 edition the Research Report, formerly known as The Review. This annual publication presents the latest findings from our scientific research, providing evidence-based insights into wildlife conservation and land management.

New for 2024, articles in the Research Report are now grouped into four main sections: Aquatic Ecosystems, Sustainable Game Management, Greener Farming, and Species Recovery. This new structure is designed to make the content more accessible and focused, helping readers navigate the breadth of work being undertaken across the Trust.

Packed with expert analysis, project updates, and evidence-based recommendations, the 2024 Research Report reflects the Trust’s continued commitment to delivering practical conservation solutions rooted in science.

A particular highlight of this year’s edition is a four-page feature from the GWCT Wales team, showcasing their pioneering use of drone technology in a variety of exciting new ecological studies. These include habitat mapping, and monitoring of deer, curlew, and terns, demonstrating how innovative tools are enhancing conservation efforts across diverse landscapes.

Copies of the report have now been sent out to GWCT members. We thank all our supporters whose contributions make this work possible and encourage readers to explore how our research is shaping the future of wildlife conservation across the UK.
