“This year was our first time at the Anglesey Agricultural show…”
ROYAL WELSH DEBRIEFING
After every big show we have a debrief to go over how the event ran, what went well, and ideas to improve for next year. As we had extra team members at the show this year it was good to hear from their side how they thought the show went, especially from those who hadn’t been before.
STUDENT SEMINAR
I was not a confident speaker at the start of my placement and I’m still not greatly confident but due to the support and the opportunities I’ve had to push myself I have definitely grown in confidence. One last opportunity to really show how my confidence in speaking had grown was a series of student seminars within the Trust. All of the students who wanted to got a 15-minute section to give a presentation on their year, I wasn’t able to attend the meeting in person due to being at the Anglesey show however, I recorded my presentation, and it was still shown.
ANGLESEY AGRICULTURAL SHOW
This year was our first time at the Anglesey Agricultural show, and it went really well. We had a crafts section where kids could come and make a shotgun cartridge flower and take them home with them, which was a big hit, as well as a mosaic cartridge piece the kids to add too. We also got to have many conversations with people local to the area about the current Farmland Biodiversity Recovery Project. The show was a great two days, and it was really nice to be able to see the other events going on around the show too.

LAST MONTH
August is my last month as a Placement Student with the GWCT Cymru, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my year with them. I got to experience so many amazing opportunities and meet some wonderful people. I am grateful for the experiences I have gained throughout the year, and I couldn’t have done it without the support and help from such an amazing team.
NEW ROLE
I was sad to leave the GWCT Cymru team, which is why when I heard they needed someone to fill in some of the gaps from the Engagement Officer, Alaw Ceris’, role I jumped at the opportunity. I will be continuing with GWCT Cymru as Conservation Assistant, alongside my last year at university, to continue aiding the amazing work they do.
